How did you find Hattrick? A couple of mates kept talking about this football game in hushed tones in the pub (TSI this… training that…) and I when I asked them they gave me a link… Where did your Hattrick team name come from? I play in the Mid Sussex Premier League on Saturdays for Balcombe FC – our nickname is the Badgers… Any significance for your teams strip? Matches our team kit! How did you discover the wonders of the THFC Fed? Searched the lists and joined the other one first – soon learnt my lesson and came a calling! Why is the THFC Fed your favourite? There’s a good bunch of guys and gals who are active on the boards, can take a joke and have good humour levels – the boards are active and I definitely know much more about what is going on at Spurs atm – also you rarely get RTFM (read the f____ rules) answers to questions… Any suggestions on how the Fed can be improved? I think it’s one of the better ones – how can you improve perfection?! What other Feds are you a member of and why? Just the DT Fed (Defense Trainers) – yup, I’m a CA bunny! Has been invaluable in learning about defender training etc… Why did you become a Spurs supporter? My step-dad took to me watch Spurs at the lane for my 12 th birthday – Falco and the like (not exactly vintage admittedly) but for some reason I was hooked – it was actually Mabbutt that became my role model (own goal king!). Favourite current Spurs player? Ledley – he’s one of the reasons that Sven should be trailing 3-5-2 for England… I drool at the thought of Terry King and Ferdy at the back in the world cup… don’t get me started! Greatest ever Spurs player? Perryman was a legend, I’ll go with the unsung hero! Worst ever Spurs player? Stephen Clemence – never a Spurs player, can’t think why he ever got in the team! Greatest Spurs manager? Bill Nic – no question. Worst Spurs manager? Ardiles – always difficult coming back as a former legend. What has been the high point and low point of the last Spurs season for you? High point was the moment Mendes beat Caroll from 45 yards whilst in the Pub with a load of Moan U mates… low point was about 3 seconds later when the ball was scoped out from three feet behind the line… firmly believe the goal that never was cost us Europe. What was the first Spurs match that you saw? (WHL and TV) Can’t remember – I’m hopeless with details like that… first memorable game would be the Cup final vs Coventry. What is the most memorable Spurs match you have seen and why? See above… What was the worst Spurs match you have ever seen? We lost 4 – 0 (I think) to Southampton in the FA cup a couple of years back… was televised and we just didn’t turn up… Do you own any Spurs football shirts? What designs? Yup… a short sleeved Pony/Holsten top and one of the Kappa/Thompson (why the red?!) stretch fit numbers with ‘Slabs’ and the number 5 on the back (my number). I bought it as a large but it’s stretched in the wash so I’m thinking of mailing it to LdnFatso ;-) Favourite Spurs shirt design? My first full Spurs strip – a hummell away kit in lurid yellow… nice! If you could sign any current Premiership player for Spurs who would it be? I think Bent has been superb for Charlton and carried through his U21 form for England – definitely one for the future… If you could sign any current world player for Spurs then who would it be? Ronaldinho – ugly as hell but pure magic… Do you have a job in real life? What is it? I manage an estate agents in Sussex – proud to say I love my job. What did you do with your spare time, before HT? Had a life, went out more, didn’t have sleepless ‘have a set my team’ nights etc Can you tell us about your best and worst day in HT? Worst day was when I lost my best striker for 8 weeks to injury and my most important match at the back end of the season – thought I’d go unbeaten but wasn’t to be. Best day was sneaking into the knockout phase of the Fed Cup last season cause Tommytuck was on holiday! *still can’t help giggling at that one* What has been the best improvement made to Hattrick and why? Arena display…….. only kidding! What has been the highlight of the Hattrick season for you? I’ll let you know after my first league game – hopefully it’ll be my first promotion – a lot harder with the defender trainer team… Do you have a favourite Hattrick player and why? (That's an actual player and not manager) My keeper Geronimo Goldstein – just for the silly name… Who has been you best recent Hattrick signing and why? Think I’ve paid over the odds for a triple passable week one 17yo defender trainee… but looking forward to training him to 21… If you had the chance,what one thing would you change in HT? I’d like to add a Team Value to the match reports – would be good to see if you’d beaten a more valuable side and just a bit of fun for us Div VI minnows when we cause Cup Upsets… Everyone makes a newbie mistake when they start HT, what was yours? Hungover one Sunday I made a heroic effort to get into work JUST before the time limit to set my team for a league game – only to realise that the clocks had gone forward and I had fielded 5 players… What position do you train? Have you always trained the same position? Defender trainer – just cause I play there myself and my team kind of fit it originally – not gonna go changing just yet! If you were giving advice to a new Hattrick player now, what would you say? Smash the screen up with a hammer and walk away from the PC… it’s just sooooo addictive… Who has been your HT inspiration? Neilss_uk introduced me and has done well with getting out of V quickly… Have you had any rivalries with other Hattrick managers? Not really, although Gringo Rangers who promoted out of my league last season would be closest Who is the biggest muppet in the Fed and why? Teekosey gets a lot of good natured banter… but my favourite is the guy who said he’d eat his hat if we signed Davids… that one had loads of legs on the fed boards! Who has been your inspiration or mentor in Hattrick? No one really special… Who makes you laugh in the Hattrick world? Again TK is good value, oh sorry, you didn’t mean who do you laugh at!… Do you have a favourite football chant that makes you laugh? It’s getting a bit tired now, but the ‘Easy’ chant and actions from Soccer AM was used to good effect last season. What is your favourite Book? Cryptonomicon or something like ‘Spares’ by Michael Marshall Smith. What is your favourite TV show? Soccer AM… Do you play any other good online games? No Christina Aguilera or Britney Spears in nothing but a Spurs home shirt, you can only have one, who would it be? I’ve been in that situation with a young lady who reminds of the Dirrty one in my time, so it would have to be Britney for a change ;-) Best movie of the year? Crash Best movie of all time? Jerry Macguire or the first Matrix film when it first came out… What was the last album you bought? Good, bad, indifferent? Joss Stone’s latest – good for a Sunday… Favourite band of all time? Guns n Roses for sheer attitude (and as a reminder of my youth) but I don’t listen to them anymore. Favourite album of all time? Too difficult to name one, sorry… |
